Six Good Songs

jectoons "Six Good Songs" is, indeed, comprised of six good songs. At times nostalgic and always fresh, Chavis Chance does a great job of conveying a time gone and thought of sporadically, particularly in songs like "BlueBonnet Trail" and "Otis Sang". At other times, like "Sharks" and "Aftermoon", he lets loose and goes with a more old school rock vibe that perfectly suits his voice. A fantastic first album and an absolute recommend. Favorite track: Bluebonnet Trail.

Sharks 03:05
She stuck a cigarette right in between her lips and then she crossed her legs He struck and match and turned to her Smoke rose it began to burn Twisting past their heads Oh baby don’t, baby don’t There are sharks in the water. Sharks on the street You can talk about morality, but we’re just meat. Saw a shark at the dance club, he had trouble with his fist pump Met a shark at an atm – seemed cool till he ate his friend He was going at those legs He was snappin’ on those legs Oh baby don’t, baby don’t There are sharks in the water Sharks on the street You can talk about morality but we’re just meat Prowling through behind a barstool they eat em’ up Vacuum up your wallet too. Suck it up Lurking just out of view, they lick their lips Out on the street, we’re little fish Oh baby don’t, baby don’t cause There are sharks in the water Sharks on the street You can talk about morality, but we’re just meat (talk about morality but we’re just meat) You can talk about morality, but we’re just meat.

Fire’s burning; come sit down I had some food; it’s gone now Lifes not bad, though often sad Always sweetest looking back These flames have got me lit I’ll soon be on my way To find my way back to Bluebonnet Trail Everything seems smaller now My head is farther from the ground These hills once made it hard to breathe Now just roll beneath my feet The sign said almost there The next one farther still But ill find my way back to Bluebonnet Trail It’s been so long, It’s been so long, It’s been so long, Golden grass all overgrown Shattered bottles broken stone I was there; I was alone, When cheeks are wet, the air is cold I ran my fingers down The sign saying almost there As I made my way out of Bluebonnet Trail

Me With You 03:33
If I could show the love I have inside me to you, I bet you’d be amazed It’s all been bubbling and burning trying to find a way to escape Well let’s just say you understood and asked me to be good to you I’d finally get to show you how I’d treat you if I was allowed If you just said what the hell, and popped on by to ring my bell Id make sure that you really knew How very good is me with you I’ve ached for you to see me and know just who I am I feel on fire, I do But all you see’s a man in front of you So lets just say you understood and asked me to be good to you I’d finally get to show you how I’d treat you if I was allowed If you just say what the hell and pop on by to ring my bell Id make sure that you really knew How very good is me with you I need you to take All I can give But im weak And I don’t know where to begin So lets just say you understood and asked me to be good to you I’d finally get to show you how I’d treat you if I was allowed If you just say what the hell and pop on by to ring my bell Id make sure that you really knew How very good is me with you That’s all I really want to do

I was outnumbered. I was outgunned. But surrender simply wasn’t an option With my chin up, in position, I was ready for a suicide mission Then she finds me And she guides me Whispers don’t worry This is all for something My father held me as a boy, told me suffering would carve a place for joy. Love the truth, find your voice, and use it when the bully’s taking other kids toys But I’ve been worn down. My body aches, and everyday I think I’m just a bit more afraid And I’ve cried, even though I said I never would Then she finds me And she guides me Whispers don’t worry This is all for something Almost time now, breath running out I become so cold Then she finds me She guides me Whispers don’t worry This is all for something

I WAS BIGGER THAN I’LL EVER BE, IN MY MIND I WAS A KING I TOUCHED HER IN TIME WITH THE TRUMPETS SWING TAT TAT TRICKLIN’ DOWN WENT THE RAIN WHEN OTIS SANG A BLURRY BLUE LIGHT LIT THE PARKING LOT WHERE I DROPPED MY DISGUISE KNOWING I WAS CAUGHT AND I FOUND LOVE EXPECTING PAIN WHEN OTIS SANG THEN SHE STOOD TO GO, LEAVING TEARS ON MY CHEST BUT I REACHED FOR HER AND TRIED A LITTLE TENDERNESS SHE LAYED BACK DOWN AND STAYED WHEN OTIS SANG
